French Fort Cove Nature Park Offers great mountain bike riding, a beautiful scenery, and a good variety of trails with most of the 25 km trail along a valley in the forest. There are several loop options offering views of a dramatic gulch that plunges down to Crow Brook feeding into French Fort Cove and the Miramichi River. The trail network here has been called the fastest; flowing hardpack singletrack in the East, a definite mountain bikers destination. Climbing and negotiating loose or rocky sections of tightly winding singletrack requires intermediate skills, but we highly recommend this ride to beginners wanting to develop their skills. The brevity of the difficult sections and easier riding on the doubletrack and multi-use trails make this an ideal place to improve your overall condition and your skills. Sentier Trail Running from Astle to Quarryville, the Sentier New Brunswick Trail follows the South West Branch of the historic Miramichi River northward towards the ocean. Gentle grades and long curves characterize this multi-use trail built on an abandoned rail line. The trail has also been built in several historic areas of the City of Miramichi. Longest continuous section: 75 km, from Astle to Quarryville. |
